Who this notice covers
This notice applies to the BetterLens website and private-beta experience in WhatsApp. For privacy questions or requests, contact epovetkin@ukr.net.
Data BetterLens receives
- Your WhatsApp account identifiers, including the phone number used to message the service.
- The messages, ideas, journal notes, evidence, and context you choose to send.
- Derived data needed for the experience, such as the Active Lens, personal program, current step, recurring patterns, and reminder preferences.
- Technical delivery and error information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
How the data is used
- To answer messages and create the requested Lens and personal program.
- To remember the current step and adapt it from evidence you provide.
- To send reminders only after you opt in, and to pause them when requested.
- To maintain reliability, investigate failures, and improve safety during the private beta.
Service providers
BetterLens relies on Meta and WhatsApp for messaging, OpenAI for language-model processing, and Amazon Web Services for application hosting and storage. Those providers process data under their own terms and may operate infrastructure in more than one country.
The project does not sell personal data or use website advertising trackers.
Retention and deletion
A fixed automatic retention schedule and self-service privacy controls are not yet available in the private beta. Data is retained while it is needed to provide, secure, and improve the beta unless deletion is requested or a longer period is required for legal or security reasons.
To request access, correction, or deletion, email epovetkin@ukr.net from an address that can be connected to your beta account. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.
Security and sensitive messages
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used, but no internet service can promise absolute security. Do not use BetterLens for emergency or crisis support. Avoid sending information you would not want processed by the service providers listed above.
Website data
The current landing page does not set analytics or advertising cookies. Standard server and content-delivery logs may record technical request data such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, and timestamp for security and delivery purposes.
Changes to this notice
This notice may change as the private beta develops. Material updates will be reflected by the date at the top of this page.
